Couples Movie Night: Fireproof
Fireproof is the story of firefighter Caleb Holt and the failing marriage he is willing to leave behind. As the couple prepares for divorce, Caleb's father challenges his son to commit to a 40-day adventure he calls "The Love Dare." Is it too late, or will Caleb's eyes be opened to the love he has at home and the love he has in Christ? Join us for a special movie night for couples on Sunday, February 9 at 6pm as we revisit what love is truly all about.
Ministry Sunday will give you a chance to learn about some of the many ways that people in our Highview community use their gifts to be the hands and feet of Christ in our church, in our community, and in our world. And, even better, it’s a chance for you to share your gifts too! Maybe you aren’t sure what exactly your gift is? Or that you even want to use them. It is common for people to discover that once they start actually using their spiritual gifts to help others, their personal benefit is even better. So even if you’re a little unsure about the whole ministry thing, you should still join us next Sunday, January 19 at 10:45am and check out our ministry information displays in the lobby immediately after service! Working together, we can transform our lives, our church, our community and the world!
40 Days of Prayer and Fasting
The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out while enabling us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God. Will you join us in a special prayer and fasting event we wish to do together as a church family, to prepare us for all of the wonderful things we KNOW God can do here? We will begin this 40 day prayer and fast on Monday, January 20 and run through February 29. You can fast for one day, or multiple days. Sign up now at: https://signup.com/go/fJoAqoO or email the date and time of your choosing to Mrs. Kierra at the email provided so we can follow along and encourage you through this!
Kids Ministry Parent Meeting
If you have a child in our Kids Ministry, you are encouraged to attend our parent meeting following the morning worship service on January 19 in the Kids Worship Room. We will discuss our vision and goals for 2020. Lunch will provided for all attendees.
Wednesday Night Small Groups
Our Wednesday night small groups resume Wednesday, January 15th at 6:30 PM. Until then, join us for combined worship in the sanctuary on Wednesdays!
Pray - Fast - Prepare
Wed, January 15 | East Campus | East Campus Worship Center
Join us in setting aside a day for fasting and an evening of corporate prayer! We desire to start off the new year in a position of dependence on Jesus. We will begin the fast by abstaining from food on Tuesday evening, and we will break the fast after our prayer gathering Wednesday. Please don’t miss the opportunity to join together with your Highview family in an act of faith and obedience.
Sun, January 19 | 10:00 AM | East Campus | Conference Room B
Highview exists for people to know and follow Jesus. We invite you to join us for an introductory session called Discover Highview. You’ll hear our mission and vision, have the opportunity to ask questions, and find ways to plug in. Discover Highview is the first step in joining our church, but attending does not obligate you to become a member.
