Day 2

Scripture to Read: Isaiah 9:2

Today we examine Isaiah 9:2, The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them. Too many walk in a deep spiritual darkness today. The reason they live in this darkness is because, as God tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:4, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. Satan and the spiritual forces of darkness work daily to keep those who walk in darkness staying right where they are. But Christ came so that everyone who walks in spiritual darkness could see Him, the great Light, and know Him as Lord and King. Christ came as the One and Only great Light. Christ came to shine brightly and dispel the darkness for good. Unfortunately, many still choose to live in darkness, for they are more comfortable in the darkness. People who choose the darkness over the Light have allowed their hearts to become callous and hardened, and their minds have become darkened in their understanding (Ephesians 4:17-19; 2 Timothy 3:1-5; Titus 1:16). Those of us who know Christ must continue to share His love and light with those who are in our lives who are still lost in the darkness. Christ came to shine His light through us so that His peace could flood the hearts of all mankind and fill everyone with His light.

Challenge & Application

1. Why do you think people choose the darkness over the Light of Christ? What areas of your life does darkness still linger? Repent and be set free. 2. How are you shining the light of Christ to those who God brings across your path each day?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!
