Day 2

Scripture to Read: 1 John 4

On our Highview website, we read that “multiplication” involves us “seeking to multiply our lives and the gospel in others. We take the gospel to engage the lost where we live, work, and do recreation. As we see people come to know and follow Jesus, we invite them on the journey of discipleship to be disciples who will make more disciples.” To see multiplication take place through us, we must understand that it is God’s love that motivates us to action. God tells us in 1 John 4:11, Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. Then God tells us in 1 John 4:20–21, If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also. So, we share Christ with others, serve them, and disciple others because we fully understand God’s love for us and that we should have that same love for them. God’s love is an incredible motivator because we see ourselves through the eyes of our Heavenly Father, and we understand His purpose and call on our lives. Jesus said it this way—concerning our lives being used to multiply His ministry—in John 20:21, …as the Father has sent Me, I also send you. Jesus filled us with His Spirit so we would go and multiply His ministry.

Day 1

God has us focused on “multiplication” this week. As we learned last week, God has designed us to invest in others so that His fruit is multiplied in us and through us. God never wants us to reach a point where His fruit is not being multiplied through our lives. As we grow in Christ, we will bear fruit for His glory and honor. Jesus speaks o...

Day 3

We must fully realize God has called us to “multiplication.” As we share Him with the lost, God chooses to use us to transform their lives as they cross over from death to life. As we see lives transformed, the “multiplication” of His fruit coming forth is awesome! Because He’s called us to “multiply,” we should be further motivated to join H...

Day 4

As followers of Christ, we know God loves us and that He gives us His incredible grace, mercy, and forgiveness (Ephesians 2:4–7, Colossians 1:13–14, Colossians 2:13–14). But if we are going to fulfill the ministry of “multiplication,” we must believe that lost people NEED Jesus Christ. In John 17, our Lord Jesus Christ prayed to God the Fathe...

Day 5

As God uses us in the ministry of “multiplication,” there are times that we become a little fearful of sharing Christ with those we know who need Christ. But God does not want us slowed down and stopped by fear. God has given us some good news in His Word to be able to overcome all fear so that we fully carry out the ministry of “multiplicati...

Day 6

As we continue to focus on the ministry of “multiplication,” we know prayer has to be a vital part of each day of our lives. God wants us in an attitude of prayer at all times to carry out the ministry of “multiplication” through His guidance in our lives. Prayer is similar to the way we use our cell phones. We constantly text, answer calls, ...

Day 7

Today is our final devotion on “multiplication.” We already know how important prayer is to our lives and to carrying out the ministry of “multiplication.” There are many Scripture verses on prayer. God’s Word tells us what prayer does for us and reminds us to pray. As we read Romans 8:26, God tells us that prayer is difficult for all of us. ...
