Scripture to Read: Genesis 1:4-31
As we began to look yesterday at how “good” God’s original creation was, it is easy to see that man and animal lived in perfect harmony for a while. God created a holy foundation reflecting His own nature. As we know, God ALONE is Good and Holy. God declares His holiness throughout His Word and 1 John 1:5 is a great example, for God’s Word says, This is the message we have heard from Him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. Sin and evil came because of Adam’s decision to disobey God. We will look more closely at Adam’s sin during our study in Genesis 3 but suffice it to say, again, there was no sin or death in this world before Adam’s sin. So, man and dinosaurs co-existed because God created a world without sin and death. The question then is this, “What did man and animals eat before sin and death entered the world?” The answer is found in Genesis 1:29-30, And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. 30 And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. Everything (man and animals) ate plants, fruits, and vegetables before man’s sin because there was no death.
