Scripture to Read: 1 Corinthians 15:39–41
God continued to have Paul point out that not all bodies are the same. We read in 1 Corinthians 15:39–41, “All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.” What God had Paul point out is that all of these different bodies, both the heavenly and the earthly, have a different type of glory. God shows that the glory and beauty of the heavenly is one kind and the glory of the earthly is another. What a great reminder of how creative God is and that His design of every earthly body and of every heavenly body ultimately brings glory and honor to Him. One day, the glorified body God has for us will be absolutely perfect. We will never get tired, never get sick, never be in any pain, never be in any need, and never lack anything. It’s hard to imagine a perfect glorified body, but take to heart what God shows us today in the beauty we currently see in the earthly and heavenly bodies. As imperfect as the earthly and heavenly bodies are, there is still so much beauty and glory. God wants us ready for what’s to come.
