Day 3

Scripture to Read: 1 Corinthians 6:14

God made it clear in 1 Corinthians 6:13 that just because we have a fleshly desire does not give us the right to follow through on that fleshly desire. Then, God had Paul write this in 1 Corinthians 6:14: “Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power.” In His perfect time, God the Father sent Christ (Galatians 4:4–7) to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins and die for us. But then, God the Father also raised Christ from the dead, and in so doing, He guarantees every one of His children that He “will also raise us up through His power.” Because Christ dwells in us through His Holy Spirit, the same power of God lives in us. God wants us to live according to His power and not ourselves—it is why God tells us in 2 Peter 1:3, “seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.” Through His divine power, God has given us everything we need to live the godly life He expects us to live—that means we have all the power we need to crucify our fleshly desires and to live a righteous and holy life for our King. God wants us to constantly remember that we have received all of this from Him by surrendering to Christ as our Lord and Savior. Remember, He called us to Himself according to His marvelous glory and excellence.

Challenge & Application

What will God the Father do for us one day and why is this important to know and share with others? How do we know God has given us all we need to be able to live a righteous and holy life?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

When we consider our freedom in Christ, we must be cautious not to allow our freedom to become a stumbling block to immature Christians, especially not to those who are still lost in their sin. Freedom through Christ is an incredible gift, but that freedom does not give us the right to use it in an ungodly or dishonoring way. As God led Paul ...

Day 4

Remember that the Christians in Corinth had been allowing their fleshly desires to rule them. Therefore, if they had a sexual desire, they would fulfill that desire through a prostitute. God had Paul write this in 1 Corinthians 6:15: “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make...

Day 5

God never wants us to join ourselves to the things that our flesh longs for. God had Paul write this in 1 Corinthians 6:16–17, “Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, “The two shall become one flesh.” 17 But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” Our flesh c...

Day 6

Sometimes, God makes it clear, so there’s no doubt about what He is commanding us to do. God had Paul write this in 1 Corinthians 6:18, “Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.” Instead of running towards our sexual fantasies, God tells us clearly that we must run...

Day 7

God gives many warnings, words of encouragement and affirmation, commandments, and much more throughout His Word. As God had Paul write to the Christians in Corinth, God had him write this in 1 Corinthians 6:19–20: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not you...
