Day 6

Scripture to Read: 1 Corinthians 12:22–26

God had Paul address the fact that the hidden parts of the body are crucial to the overall health of the body. God had Paul write in 1 Corinthians 12:22–26, “On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; 23 and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable, 24 whereas our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked, 25 so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” God wants every believer to understand that some parts of the body, which are hidden and seem less important, are sometimes the most essential. Our heart is a good example; though we never see it, we know that without it we’d die. We can live if we lose an arm, but we can’t live without a heart. God put the body together in such a way that extra care is given to the hidden parts. God brings harmony to every part of our body so that every part impacts the other. If one part suffers, the whole body suffers and if one is honored, all the parts rejoice—it’s how the body of Christ must function.

Challenge & Application

Our body also has hidden parts, including our heart, lungs, and other organs within us. No single part of our body is any more important or less important than any other part. God...
