Day 1

Scripture to Read: Luke 11:14–20

Jesus continually fulfilled the Father’s perfect will each day. Nothing Jesus did was by accident and nothing He said was haphazard. God had Luke record this in Luke 11:14–20, “And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute; when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed. 15 But some of them said, ‘He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.’ 16 Others, to test Him, were demanding of Him a sign from heaven. 17 But He knew their thoughts and said to them, ‘Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls. 18 If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. 19 And if I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? So they will be your judges. 20 But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” When Jesus cast out the demon that made the man mute, the people were amazed because this type of demon was considered impossible to cast out. The exorcists in the days of Jesus believed that if they could not call a demon by name, then the demon could not be commanded to be cast out. Jesus displayed God the Father’s power and showed that nothing is impossible for God (Luke 1:37). Jesus also answered the crowds’ foolish mindset, telling them that no kingdom can stand if it’s divided against itself.

Day 2

Through the miracles He performed, Jesus showed people that He was God in the flesh. But even as He performed miracles, many still doubted. Since some of the people thought that Jesus cast out a demon by the power of another demon, Jesus then said this in Luke 11:21–23, “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions ar...

Day 6

Though Jesus had to rebuke the crowd several times, He loved them and sought to reach them so they’d understand He came to die for them. Luke even recorded this in Luke 11:37–40, “Now when He had spoken, a Pharisee *asked Him to have lunch with him; and He went in, and reclined at the table. 38 When the Pharisee saw it, he was surprised that ...

Day 7

Jesus wanted the Pharisees and lawyers to see the true condition of their hearts, so, God had Luke record the woes to the scribes, Pharisees, and lawyers in Luke 11:42–54. Jesus first pointed out that though they tithed, it was hypocritical because they neglected God’s justice and love. Jesus also rebuked them for striving to be revered and f...
