Day 2

Scripture to Read: Luke 19:32-34

The two disciples had received their instructions from Jesus, and then, God had Luke record this: Luke 19:32–34, “So those who were sent went away and found it just as He had told them. 33 As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, ‘Why are you untying the colt?’ 34 They said, ‘The Lord has need of it.’” The disciples arrived in the village and found exactly what Jesus had told them to expect. They began untying the colt, and the owner wanted to know what they were doing. The two disciples responded exactly as Jesus told them to respond. As we live our lives, our Lord, through His Holy Spirit in us, leads and guides us each day to carry out His will. God even tells us specifically in Philippians 2:13, “…it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” God is actively working in our lives, just as Jesus directed the two disciples to carry out His work and will, and it’s all for His good pleasure. That is why it is so important for us to spend time in intimate fellowship with our Lord each day through prayer and being in His Word so that we know what He has in store for us to accomplish. We know He created us for “good works,” for God specifically tells us this in Ephesians 2:10. If we’re missing God’s will, it’s not because God hasn’t made it obvious; it’s because we’ve allowed the stuff of this world to silence His voice.

Challenge & Application

What has God been leading you to do that you need to follow through on? Why do we often miss what God has spoken to us, and what must we do to guard against the distractions of the world?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

We read in Luke 19:39–40, “Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him,’Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.’ 40 But Jesus answered, ‘I tel...
