Day 1

Scripture to Read: 1 Corinthians 2:1–2

When God sent Paul to Corinth, Paul knew that all he had to offer was the message of Christ as crucified, dead, buried, and risen, and that life is found in Him alone. God led Paul to write this in 1 Corinthians 2:1–2, “And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.” God had Paul remind the Christians in Corinth that when he first came to them, he didn’t try to impress them with a charismatic personality or wow them with big words. God sent Paul to reveal to them God’s plan of salvation, which was revealed through Christ our Lord. We can learn a lot from this because many Christians often feel like they have to be impressive or use big words to share the gospel of Christ. God simply wants us to share what we know to be true: that Christ came for all mankind, surrendered His life as the sacrifice/payment for the full price for our sins, died in our place, and then defeated death by rising from the grave. Just like Paul, we know nothing except Jesus Christ, the One Who was crucified on our behalf. Christ is the One Who is impressive, and His story is impressive. If we will share Christ, then God the Father, through His Holy Spirit, will take His message and transform lives, just like He has transformed ours.

Challenge & Application

What does God call us to do when sharing Christ with those around us? How are you allowing God to use you to share Christ with family, friends, neighbors, and more?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

This mystery was God the Father’s plan to send our Lord Jesus Christ to earth to live a p...

Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the ...

God had Paul write this in 1 Corinthians 2:14–16, “But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 16 For who has known the mind of t...
