Day 3

Scripture to Read: 1 Corinthians 2:7–8

God had Paul clarify for the believers in Corinth where his wisdom came from. We read in 1 Corinthians 2:7, “but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory.” God had Paul speak of His mystery. This mystery was God the Father’s plan to send our Lord Jesus Christ to earth to live a perfect life and to be the perfect sacrifice for the payment of all sins for all mankind. God revealed through Paul that the rulers of their day missed God’s mystery being revealed to them, for we read in 1 Corinthians 2:8, “the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” The rulers were blind to who Jesus was. But God tells us why the rulers missed who Jesus was, for we read in 2 Corinthians 4:3–4, “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” The good news of Christ was missed by many in Paul’s day. That same good news is missed by millions today because they have also allowed the god of this world to blind them. God made a way for everyone to know Him through Christ, but people must choose Christ to fully see Him.

Challenge & Application

We know the mystery of God is no longer a mystery, for His mystery is Christ; so, how are you sharing Him? Why do people today still miss who Jesus is and that He is their only God and Lord?

Day 6

God has given us His Holy Spirit to know all God the Father desires us to know. God had Paul write it this way in 1 Corinthians 2:11–13, “For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the ...

Day 7

God had Paul write this in 1 Corinthians 2:14–16, “But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 16 For who has known the mind of t...
